I have a lot of memories associated with Beetle's valley. At one point of time in my life I had fun scaling these mountains. You cant live in Pune and not go hiking....... after all there are hills all round you. This valley is ensconced between the mountains. This is my version of Zindagi...... or life in Hindi. When I asked friends and family what came to them when I said Zindagi or Life, they said baby, old person, sleeping cat, etc etc. For me I saw life in the eyes of this woman who was sitting on a bullock cart going to sell sugarcane to the factory. Karla caves are located in Lonavala in the middle of Pune and Mumbai on NH4. They are a series of Buddhist rock cut cave shrines located in the hills. The walls of the caves have Buddhist paintings are carvings. For more info check here. We went there in the rains and were lucky to witness a lot of small springs of water which had sprouted from all sides. The hill also houses the Ekvira temple

Last week the sanyasins from Bharat Sevashram Sangha held a program where there were some discourses from the scriptures, Arati, and singing of some bhajans to praise the Lord. It wasn't much of a fanfare instead rather low key but the turnout was immense. The singer sang with a harmonium and doled out some usual renditions of "Hare Krsna Hare Rama". He was accompanied by a mridangam player.

Because of the cyclone Thane that passed by this week we had some amazingly gripping skies. The sunset a couple of days back was to kill for. The sky was vibrant with colors and clouds.
